Tony realised his dream of moving to Skye in 2004 and has been guiding in the Cuillin ever since. His passion for the Cuillin was spawned on his first visit in 1987 with a typically huge day out, walking into Coruisk from Elgol, following the Ridge as far as Sgurr Mhic Coinnich before returning to Elgol.
He has climbed extensively throughout the UK as well as trips to the Alps but, above all, prefers the raw beauty of the Cuillin.
Tony made over 60 ascents of the Inaccessible Pinnacle in the 2006 season. He only narrowly failed to complete a Greater Traverse with two clients when a huge storm blew in. The Greater Traverse includes Clac Glas and Blaven and is over twice the length of the more normal Great Traverse.
Tony is an active member of the Skye Mountain Rescue Team with many of his “days off” spent out on either practice or genuine call-outs. Baby Aiden is Tony’s pride and joy but Kibby the climbing Collie is still his favourite hill companion.
A new addition to the family is Cuillin, a collie puppy that is being trained up as a search and rescue dog.
