Welcome to the Skye Guides website. We specialise in providing high quality professional mountain guiding and climbing instruction on the Isle of Skye. The site is written to provide clients with as much information as possible about the services and the activities we offer. We operate all year round and the site is split between summer and winter activities. Bookings for individual days or five-day courses are available for all levels of ability and experience.

The Black Cuillin mountain range is the most complex and technical mountain environment in the British Isles with a history of guiding dating back to the early 1800’s. The jagged rocky ridges dropping straight into the beautiful Hebridean Sea provide a unique mountain experience. Skye Guides are climbers with a serious passion for their patch. We know that we have the best mountains in Britain and are keen for our clients to get the very best experiences and share our enthusiasm.

Skye Guides was established in 1995 and has a reputation for providing safe, successful and inspiring outings for our customers. The company is run by Mike Lates, author of the forthcoming SMC guidebook to Cuillin. His knowledge of these mountains is unrivalled and includes the geology, wildlife and history as well as the intricate terrain.

The Isle of Skye is famous for having some of the most beautiful, dramatic and diverse scenery in the world. Guiding is also available for photographers, film makers, naturalists or anyone else visiting this magical island.
